Where's YOUR beauty?

You had to guess that somewhere along the line I'd demand some audience participation. I think it would be beautiful if you would tell me the beautiful thing about your day...whichever day you read this. Tell me on the comments page! You can do it anonymously! Come On!!!!!!! THAT is the most wondrous thing in my day, to have the anticipation of finding out the beauty of other people's day.

Nearly every morning before I go to work there's a guy on a bicycle going through the dumpster in my condo's parking lot. He's looking for aluminum cans. Today I emptied my garbage and decided to take all my aluminum cans (mostly Keystone beer)and I put them in a separate bag for him, ya know, to make it easier for him. It's not much but I didn't really leave my house today.

For Christmas I got this solar-powered rainbow maker. It has a teeny solar panel on it and copper coils that go down and power this series of rainbow-coloured cogs that in turn turn a faceted crystal. It's a really simple invention but I think it's so cool. Since Christmas, we've only seen a handful of sunny days and most of them, I've been working. Well, today is sunny and it's a Sunday! I thought, "Quick! Quick! Go get the rainbow maker before the sun goes away!" So I did. And it is the best cat toy EVER. Oiche and Maidin are running around in circles, chasing little rainbows up and down the walls and meowing like crazy. It's the most joyful Sunday morning I've had in a long time. (I know this blog is about beauty and not joy, but it's close enough today. Joy is beautiful, right??)

Jill, it's amazing that I read this today of all days. I'll share the email I sent just this morning.

"Let me tell you about how my day has gone so far.

I woke up next to a naked man, with whom I am terribly smitten, received kisses and rubs, got wrapped in a big fat robe, drank coffee leisurely while watching and listening to the day begin. Still had time to take a long hot shower, eat a leisurely breakfast, clean the bathroom for guests, start a load of clothes and STILL get to work early to a job I love.

It kind of worries me that my life is so good…"

By the way...I notice my ID comes up as "Q". It's me, Susan, B's friend from BR. I love reading up on you every now and then. I also shared "Wild" with several friends.
